Disappearing Meows

          Up there?  Up where?  Not only were the boys confused but the turtle dude was too.  This cave was so high that it was hard to tell where it actually stopped.  Besides that, there was no consistent light so the echoing sounds of Sammie meowing just confused them.

          “Sammie?”  yowled Paws.  “Quit fooling around!  Where are you?”

          Sammie gave a crazy laugh/purr.  “What’s with you guys?  I’m right in front of you!”

          Poor Tippy was getting a neck cramp trying to figure this out.  “You dope!”  he meowed.   “You’re hiding on purpose.”

          Sammie gave another laugh/purr and then there was a strange silence.  “Sammie!”  the turtle dude yelled.  “Sammie!”

          Silence.

          Paws felt his whiskers perk into that ‘pointy’ stage.  This didn’t seem right and he felt a sudden anger towards the sneaky turtle-dude.  He gave him a whack with the tail.  “What in the meow is going on here???”  he asked.
