Toni
was a tuxedo cat who was on the chubby side.
She was also PURRY CUTE. One of her favorite
things in the entire world to do in the fall was to head over the hill, in
front of her mom’s house, and relax under some old trees and bushes. Now, the other kitties, usually didn’t pay
attention to this. As a meow of fact,
Fuzzy, the fluffy, calico kitty liked spending her time in the backyard in a pile
of leaves. However, something
interesting happened one evening…
Toni didn’t come up from over the hill.
Meeeeeeeee-huh?????????????????
Now, this was interesting but guess
what? Most of Fuzzy’s pals weren’t worried. As a meow of fact, they were more interested
in the warm fall evening that Toni. Let’s
add that the kitties loved this time of year too bepaws the human put on the
Halloween lights and that warmed the air even more. To top it all off, the kitties just enjoyed
purring over the decorations, especially the ones in the tree. They thought they were a pawsome site!
Pawing right along…
Fuzzy couldn’t enjoy the evening
fun. Toni, no matter what, usually came
up at the same time every evening. She
tried to meow about it to their mom, Blackie, but Blackie just swished her tail
and went to hang out with Eddie, the mackerel tabby underneath the orange lights
in the front yard. No kitty thought it
was a big deal that Toni was missing.
Meee-uhoh…
With a twitch of her whiskers and
swishing of the tail, Fuzzy figured that she better take charge. Meee-ow, it’s true that she hadn’t been over
the hill for a long time but she figured that she better paw down and look for
Toni. So, she started the journey.
Meeee-wow! Meow-dramatic, right?
Well, going over the hill wasn’t
really a bad thing, usually, because it was small. There was a small area of woods and a medium
sized creek down there. For some reason,
Fuzzy noticed that it looked stranger down there than usual. As a meow of fact, it seemed darker…
MEEEE-HUH???
Fuzzy got to the bottom of the hill
and started yowling. “TONI!!! TONI!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Silence then, all of a sudden there
was a huge screech. It was the strangest
thing she ever heard, and she almost took off up the hill, but she had to find
Toni. “Toni!!!” she meowed again. “Where are you?”
There was rustling around the branches
and some of the old trees seemed like they were moving back and forth. A doe popped out from behind an oak, looked
at Fuzzy with huge eyes, and then took off so fast that it looked like a trail
of fire was following her. Fuzzy’s
whiskers twitched in amusement. She spooked
a deer! How meowy was that.
“Whoo-hoo!”
Her head shot up and saw an owl in a high
tree. Where in the meow did, he come
from? Fuzzy’s human said that owls
really didn’t come around here anymore. The
thing with the owl was that he wouldn’t shut up.
“Whoo-hoo!” he called again, flying down a few limbs to
get closer to Fuzzy. He looked really big
and Fuzzy noticed that his eyes looked bright red.
“Meeee-yikes!” she yowled, turning, and running from the
owl. Horrible thoughts went through her
head that Toni must’ve gotten eaten by the owl.
She had to get back up that hill but as she started up, it seemed like
she wasn’t going anywhere! Why couldn’t
she move? Well, forget that hill, for now, she thought
pawing towards the creek. She could get
back home the long way, if she had too.
Then that screeching happened again
which made her fur go up. Were we
getting to the Frighten Fuzzy point? You’re meowing right we were. Owls and screeching had the ability to do
that to any kitty. As a meow of fact, it
looked like a smaller, white owl was watching her from another tree. HOLY MEOWS SHE WAS GOING TO GET EATEN BY A
BUNCH OF OWLS! Fuzzy pawed faster and then
fell over a small tree. She went flying and
found herself next to another dead tree.
Meeee-wow, it was dark outside and her
meeee-ow she had a headache. As she got
up and tried to shake off the cobwebs a GLOWING WHITE AND ORANGE PAW CAME OUT
FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE TREE!
Fuzzy backed up. What was that? What in the meow was that? She couldn’t move though, she was fascinate
bepaws the paw turned into two paws, then whiskers and then a WHOLE FACE. It was her stepdad! Holy meows it was the ghost of her stepdad,
Casey!
Fuzzy gave a shriek and ran back the
way she came and that’s where she saw more ghosts. First it was the pale-yellow glow of her
uncle Barney, the golden glow of her aunt Baby and it was them! It really
was, they looked just like they did in the days of prime health except
they were meowing ghosts! As a meow of
fact Fuzzy was in a field of cat ghosts, many she didn’t recognize, but that
fact was irrelevant bepaws there was nothing but ghosts pawing around!
She
was transfixed for a second but out of nowhere it seemed like a tail came
wrapped around back legs. Now, that made
Fuzzy screech so hard that it made the ghosts back-off and somehow, some way,
the ghosts backed up and Fuzzy, somehow she managed to race back up the hill.
When
Fuzzy made it to the road, she pawed right into her mom, her brothers and
Toni. Toni??? What was up with this?
Toni
gave a smug twitching of the whiskers. “Did
I Frighten Fuzzy???”
