The kitties weren’t sure what to do. All of them wanted to go comfort Hank but meeee-ow
the dude was crying hard and by hard we’re meowing that he was going to start
flooding the place if he kept it up. It
got worse when Howie started again. The
two were on their way to break the sound barrier.
Poor Paws’s head was pounding. He even lost a couple of whiskers in the
noise. He couldn’t stand it anymore. He leapt on a sand dune and yowled, “QUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTT!!!!!”
Believe it or not it worked. It was no wonder really Paws must’ve used
every ounce of lung power that he had bepaws he collapsed on top of the
dune. That combined with the looks on Hank’s
and Howie’s faces was actually kind of funny but no one was laugh-purring. This was too serious and Barney decided to
exert his ‘big cat authority.’
He pawed up to the two of them. “Look,” he meowed, “believe it or not, it’s
going to be okay.”
Hank looked at Barney like his fur just fell out. “Are you crazy?” he asked.
Barney tried to be reasonable. “Look, you just have to hope that your mom is
safe.”
Hank’s mouth kind of dropped then he started snorting at
Barney like he was ready to attack!
