On the Trail

There was yowling, howling and downright screeching.  Paws must’ve meowed out every name in the book to Barney.  However, Barney actually didn’t get far bepaws for some reason, he stopped at by a couple of big rocks in the middle of the ocean.

“What did you stop for?”  Paws asked.

“Did you hear that?”  asked Barney.

All of the kitties leaned forward expecting to hear something really weird but all they could hear was the waves.  Barney had a strange look on his face and his whiskers were twitching like he was hearing something magical.  No one got it.

“What in the meow do you hear?”  asked Paws impatiently.  “There’s only waves out there.”

“I can’t believe you can’t hear it,” Barney meowed.  “Sammie’s around somewhere.  I can hear him.”

The kitties were silent and leaned forward (again) trying to get a whisker signal.  Paws, finally, got what Barney was meowing about when he heard small splashes.  “I hear it!”  he yowled.  “I hear the turtle-dude!”

Fuzzy started feeling frisky.  “Let’s go get that con-artist!”

Barney revved up the jet ski again and took off hard enough that the jet ski was flying through the air.  The next thing you know, there was a huge splash!!!
