A Request

Tippy went into a long, detailed explanation that seemed like it had the orangutan in shock.  The dude’s mouth was hanging open.  “You rode here on a wave?”  he repeated.  “Wow!!!!”

“Will you let my friend down?”  Tommy called up to the orangutan.  “Please!  I don’t want him to fall!”

What a polite little rhino!  The orangutan was impressed, he put Tippy down without any argument but he stayed in the tree.  It seemed like that the orangutan was just glad somebody was around to hang out with.  “What are you two going to do?”

Tippy and Tommy just kind of stared at each other.  What were they going to do?  It didn’t seem like the gang was coming and Tommy didn’t have anybody.  Tippy, all of a sudden, felt really sick.  It seemed like that he was doomed.  “Oh boy,” he meowed.  “I’m in big trouble.”

That’s when the orangutan came down from the tree.  “Don’t panic,” he said to Tippy.  “This is a really nice island and maybe you two can help me out.”

Tippy’s whiskers started twitching.  “With what?”  he asked.

“My family’s gone,” he said.  “Maybe you can help me find them.”

Tommy was shocked.  “What can we do?”  he asked.  “We’re just kids!”
