A Surprise Washed Up

          He looked at Hank in disbelief.  “Do you really think charging these idiot birds will help?”

          Hank gave one of those big, toothy grins.  “Don’t worry,” he said.  “It’ll work.”

          There was a huge splash and that made all of them jump.  Two very bedraggled-looking cats suddenly appeared.  It took a second for it to sink in but when it did the Mayor and Casey couldn’t believe it!  It was Daisy and little Toni!  How in the meow was that paws-ible?  “Daisy!!!”  they both yowled.  “Where did you come from?”

          Well, there was a problem both of them couldn’t meow. Toni ended up passing out and Daisy started coughing.  Casey had to give her a couple of whacks on the back before she settled down.  Her eyes were huge and her whiskers started to twitch.  “Whut- whutz happened?”

          “That’s what we were going to meow to you!”  meowed Casey.  “How did you manage to get here?  I thought the boat disappeared.”

          Daisy looked at them confused.  Boat?  She couldn’t remember anything about a boat?  She looked down at Toni and couldn’t figure out who she was.  “Who is dat?”  she asked pointing at Toni with her tail.

          Hank yelled it before the boys did.  “What’s the matter with you?  Do you have amnesia?”
