Too Buttery

 

 

          The kitties stared at the big kitty, amazed, confused and downright shocked.  What was up with this?  None of them ever heard their stepdad meow about a huge kitty with spots.  “Meeee-huh???”  asked Fuzzy.

          “I’m back!  I’m back!!!”  meowed Toni, rumbling down the hill with a huge container of butter on her back. 

          Paws was flabbergasted.  “I can’t believe you made it back so soon!”

          “I can’t believe that you didn’t lick up all the butter!”  Tippy meowed. 

          The second he meowed that Toni hiccupped and the kitties noticed that she smelt paw-fully buttery!  The big cat thought that was the funniest thing in the world and he started laugh/purring.  As a meow of fact, he got so wound up that he ended up freeing his leg and landing on the ground with a thud.

          “Dude are you okay???”  asked Fuzzy.

          “Oh yeah,” answered the big cat standing up and shaking out his fur.  “That was purrfectly hilarious, thanks kid,” he meowed to Toni.

          Toni though couldn’t answer bepaws she was stuffing her face with the remainder of the butter that she bought down.  Oh meeee-ow- what a CHUB.

          “Now, let’s see,” the big cat meowed eyeing Fuzzy up, “you’re Fuzzy.  The butter kid- is Toni and you boys are Tippy and Paws, right?”  he asked Paws who was eyeing him suspiciously.

          “Yeah- how did you know?”

          “I am Casey’s pal,” the big cat meowed smoothly.  “I’m Big Eddie.”

          MOL…Big Eddie…

          Fuzzy’s mind raced.  Casey had been gone for a long time, pawviously, but she had no memory of anybody named Big Eddie.  “Wait a minute,” she meowed,  “you said am?”

          “I’m here to visit Casey,” Big Eddie meowed.  “I know you kitties from when you were kittens.  He was like your dad, where is he?  Is he up the hill?”

          Holy meows!  How were they going to tell him???
